Driver – Multi-drop, Class 2 LGV

Due to continued business growth, Greencity Wholefoods have exciting vacancies for both full-time and part-time, permanent, Class 2 LGV multi-drop drivers

Based in Glasgow’s East End, Greencity Wholefoods is a worker co-operative and a wholesaler of fine food and drink. Your role would involve making multi-drop deliveries throughout Scotland and North England, occasional overnight stays may be involved.

As we are a worker co-operative, we also aim to create a non-exploitative workplace which takes into consideration the interests of the workers, the community and the environment as a whole. We believe in parity of pay and we have a flat management structure, which allows all members equal access to the decision-making process.

You will need –

  • Full Class 2 lorry licence (essential) with no more than 6 penalty points (depending on infringements).
  • Driver CPC card (or willing to obtain one before starting work with Greencity)
  • Digital tachograph card (essential)
  • For insurance purposes you will need to be over 25yrs of age.
  • As deliveries are usually handballed you will require a high degree of physical fitness.
  • You will be flexible and possess good communication and customer service skills.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Scotland would be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of wholefoods as well as an awareness of co-operative working practices would be desirable.
  • Hours Full Time - 40 per week (4 days from Monday to Friday) but may vary.

Salary £10.00 per hour (paid monthly), free on-site canteen, plus a profit related pay scheme.

Holidays 32 days per annum pro-rata

Warehouse Operative

£15.25 per hour

5 Days per week, Monday to Friday 37 Hours

We are looking for an exceptional Warehouse Operative to join our hardworking team.

Job Specification:

Day to day tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Picking and moving stock, by hand and with heavy lifting equipment
  • Building pallets quickly and securely for delivery
  • Moving pallets safely, using hand truck
  • Loading goods onto vehicles for delivery
  • Receiving and unloading goods
  • Check loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt
  • Store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse
  • Observing and maintaining health and safety standards
  • Working within a team and achieving daily targets

Person Specification:

  • Attention to detail when completing tasks and working to quality standards
  • Play a part in maintaining a safe working environment
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy loads
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined
  • Have basic computer skills
